Task 1: Minor Research Report

The purpose of this laboratory report is to increase your understanding of a topic related to cognition or perception of historical significance. You will participate in a research project conducted during class time using the CogLab (or similar) program. The data gathered from this experiment will be used to write up the Minor Research Report. As the experiment is being conducted for educational purposes there is no need for ethics approval. However, students still retain the standard research participation rights such as the right to decline participation and to withdraw from the experiment at any time.As prior knowledge of the experiment would influence your responses, full details will be provided shortly after the experiment has been conducted in lectures and tutorials

2. Critical thinking.
3. Correct APA style and scholarly writing style.
4. Quality of research.

Task Instructions
Aim: The purpose of this report is to introduce students to the methodologies and core theories used in cognitive psychology. Students will complete a CogLab activity in class and prepare a short laboratory report based on the results of the experiment. The experiment examines factors which influence memory span, although I won’t specifically say which activity yet (if you prefer knowing beforehand, just let me know). A starting reference and data will be made available via Canvas immediately after the conclusion of the Week 2 tutorials and more information about the experiment and assignment requirements will be provided in lectures and tutorials.
